I learned this morning that Editor Jen has passed away, apparently of natural cardiac causes. She will be missed as both a friend and a coworker.
I am waiting to hear from her brother about where flowers and/or charitable donations can be sent, and I will let you know if you are interested in contributing.

I am so sorry to hear about EditorJen. Although I didn’t know her well, I enjoyed her dry humor and sarcastic wit. She was an excellent editor and I learned a lot from her. She will be greatly missed! You and her family will be in my prayers. I’m am sorry for your loss.
I am still trying to wrap my head around this. Jen was an excellent editor, and one of the most intelligent people I’ve ever met. We had just started becoming friends. She was one of the few people who got my obscure jokes and weird sense of humor. Many a chat session began with a work-related question and ended with laughter. My heartfelt condolences go out to her family and friends, and to you, QualityGal. I know Jen will be missed by many, and I know I’ll miss her too.

I was shocked yesterday when you told us and more upset than I thought possible for someone I ‘only’ knew online. We were just becoming friends and I was enjoying our late night chat sessions. She was a funny, smart, and honest woman…we all need friends like her. I wish I’d had a chance to get to know her better and am truly sorry for your loss. I would like to be contacted with the donation information when you get it.

I hope you know you have a wonderful support group here. Though some of us may not have known Jen very well, I know those of us who did speak to her at least once will not ever forget what an incredible person she was. We all feel her loss, and we’re here to help you however we can.
If it weren’t for Jen, I’m fairly sure I would have given up writing. The only reason I kept on was financial. She brought the joy back to it, and she kept my head on straight a time or two during personal chaos. For someone I knew virtually for no more than a couple of months–she sure made an incredible impact on me.
Thank you for sharing a blessing such as Jen with me. I am very thankful for the time I knew her, as brief as it was.
